Improving Behaviours in Perioperative Care Resources Launched

Today CPOC has launched a dedicated Behaviour Change resources page alongside the existing “Why change matters?” and "HOW to change" tools. It brings together practical, user-friendly resources from different organisations to support perioperative staff in improving workplace culture and patient safety through better behaviours.
Behaviour Change Poster
- A printable poster reinforcing core principles of effective perioperative teamwork: respectful communication, shared goals, speaking up, and learning from mistakes.
- Ideal for theatres, briefing rooms, induction sessions, and ward spaces as a constant visual reminder of the culture we aspire to in the perioperative team.
Behaviour in the Perioperative Care Team Infographic
- A visually engaging infographic that summarises the key messages: why respectful, inclusive, and kind behaviours matter and how individuals and teams can put them into practice.
-
Designed for digital use and dissemination to support our resources hub.
Why this matters
These resources translate the evidence and themes from the main behaviour change narrative into a clear, accessible format that fits seamlessly into day to day practice. Downloadable and ready to use, the infographic and poster can help teams embed positive behaviours at both individual and organisational levels.
This work has been developed by a dedicated working group with representation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Association for Perioperative Practice and Royal College of Nursing.
